Three
More New Betikara Lambs
Last month Betikara reported that there are now three new Lambs (Angelo, Basile, and Tafita) at the orphanage. We are happy to announce that those three Lambs are settling in well. Also, we would like to report that the orphanage has received three more boys (Donald, Gervais, and Patrick) since the writing of the last newsletter. That makes 6 new boys in the last two months. So, now Betikara is, for the time being, completely full of children. We now have twenty girls and twenty boys for a total of forty children.

Packages for Betikara
In my travels around the United states I have found that several individuals and congregations are continuing to ask about sending packages to Madagascar for the children that they sponsor at the Betikara Orphanage. Many people still want to be able to send packages for birthdays and for holidays.
We stopped the sending of packages due to the cost of customs that we were having to pay for the packages once they arrived at the post office in Madagascar. The charging of customs has not changed. However, if you feel that you still want to send items even though the cost of postage is expensive and there is an additional cost for customs charges once the package arrives in Madagascar, then by all means send on your packages.
I have talked with some individuals that have stated they would not mind sending on some extra money to cover the cost of the custom charges. They would rather have the pleasure of sending packages to the children that they sponsor, instead of not being able to send packages. If you also feel this way, then we would be happy to have you send packages from time to time, knowing that you will not be offended if we send you an e-mail or letter telling you what the custom charges are for your sent packages.
Please keep in mind that if you send packages to Betikara that we are no longer able to let you know what happens with your packages. Dinand will receive your packages and will get them to the orphanage, but he cannot let you know what has arrived or when it has arrived. Right now Stacy is busy with school and I am not in Madagascar to make sure that things are distributed according to your instructions.
