Testing Season at
Betikara Test Results for
B.E.P.C. This year four Betikara Lambs were involved in the junior high school leaving test. We are pleased to announce that all four of the students passed and will be moving on to high school. One of the Lambs that took the test not only passed, she placed 2nd overall for the Antananarivo area. This is quite an accomplishment. We have always known that Elisoa is a bright student. Now we have proof!
Elisoa placed 2nd
overall in the Antananarivo
area
Please help us congratulate not only Elisoa, but also remember
Yosly, Jean Marc and Clara who did well during this test. Following are
their pictures.
Test for B.A.C. Now that the junior high school testing is
finished it is time for the high school testing to start. There are two
Betikara Lambs that are taking tests to see if they can finish high
school. If they get good scores on their respective tests then they will
be able to move on to either a technical course or on to university level
studies if they can take and score well on the university entrance exams.
Many students never make it into university in Madagascar because they
cannot pass the university entrance exams. Robert and Sedera are the two Betikara Lambs that
are taking high school leaving tests at this time. Robert has already
completed his technical part of the exam and has passed. Now we pray that
both Robert and Sedera can concentrate and do well on their respective
high school exams.
Medical Mission Statistics (Written by Randy
Uthe) The Madagascar team was made up of not only four people from Abilene, including myself, but we were also joined by three individuals from Bosnia. One of the people, Liz Crittendon P.A., was my partner in seeing patients during the clinics. In 7 days of clinics we treated approximately 675 patients. That is a total of almost 100 patients a day for two people. We were also able to see and help over 260 people with either eye medications and/or eye glasses. The most common illnesses that were treated were: high blood pressure, abdominal problems, various infections, arthritis, and allergies. More than the numbers though is the relationships that were formed through the clinics. Two of the clinic days were specifically for church members at the two church locations in which the clinics were held. These members were strengthened through the knowledge that they are cared for by fellow Christians and also gained insight into the life of a Christian, via caring for God’s created. Barry Rosie was also able to make important new contacts and networks. The clinics served to broaden the effectiveness of the Rosie’s work by increasing their influence in those communities in which they work. On top of this, the clinics served as an important intercessory encouragement for many of the Madagascar Presidential ACU graduates to keep their Christian walk strong in a harsh environment.
