Two Baptized at Betikara
Rejoice with us and our Heavenly Father because two of
the Betikara Lambs were baptized and now are servants in His Kingdom. During
the month of December 2007 Andry and Tsiry were baptized. Both of these young
men continue to show their dedication to the Savior in and around the Betikara
Orphanage.
Andry
Andry continues to need to be lifted up to the Father for
his physical well being. Andry spent more than two weeks of the month of
December in the Hospital. He continues to suffer from what the doctors say are
damaged kidneys. I will be taking Andry to another doctor this month to see if
he agrees with the previous doctor, and to see if there is anything medically
that can be done for Andry to give him some portion of better health. Andry is
already on a no salt diet and is taking two different medications daily. While
in the hospital over the Christmas holidays Andry asked the Betikara caregivers
to send his Bible and songbook to him so that he could read and sing songs.

Tsiry
In the September 2007 newsletter I wrote, “I have not
heard of a final decision on Tsiry, but according to Betikara policy Tsiry
should soon be leaving Betikara because he is not actively enrolled in some
form of further education.” Those involved in sponsoring Tsiry were concerned
that he would not have a means of support once he left the orphanage. I assured
them that we would arrange for Tsiry to find some type of work.
I was recently informed that Tsiry will be working right
out at the Betikara Orphanage. One of the daily workers was released and Tsiry
will be filling that position. It appears that Tsiry has quite a talent for
working with the Lambs that he has grown up with for the last several years.
Please pray for both Tsiry and Andry in the coming months.
Letter from Josh Poole
Josh Poole is the Projects Coordinator for the Adventist Development and Relief Agency here in Madagascar. This is what the ADRA website ( http://www.adra.org ) says about their organization, “ADRA is changing the world in 125 countries around the globe without regard to gender, age, ethnicity or political or religious association.”
Josh
visited Betikara with some of his co-workers and friends on Christmas morning.
After Josh’s visit Josh wrote, “You all have done an amazing thing with the
center there and the kids all look happy and healthy.I have been to many
orphanages and rarely do the kids seem so well taken care of.It was a treat to
share the day with them and to start and teach my own kids about sharing and
giving. We look forward to visiting you again in the near future.”
