Fellow servants in Christ,
It is hard to believe
that two months have passed since I last wrote to you. Hope this finds you growing in the Lord
daily, as we are. Along with our full
schedule of work this last month, we also were busy moving. We are now living in Kisii town. However, our address is the same as
before. The move has been good for us
in many ways. We are closer to the work
we do in South Nyanza, we have a more reliable supply of water, and maybe the
most important thing is that now we have a telephone. If you would like to call us, you can dial direct. Our
number is: 011-254-381-21446. The best
time to call is between 6:00am to 3:00am your time. The rate per minute for you to call us is $1.00. We would appreciate hearing from you
anytime, so feel free to call.
The Lord continues to
watch over us, and encourage us when we are feeling of little use to him. I have been going to a new area to teach for
three months now. There are four
Christians there who asked me to come.
From the start, things have not looked very promising there. I was even contemplating leaving that area
and starting over somewhere else.
However, the Lord knew what He had planned for that area, and last
month, six were added into the kingdom.
Christ is teaching us patience.
In other areas where
we are working, three more were added to the Lord this past month also. Now, we pray for wisdom to be able to mature
them in Christ. Please pray for us and
the new disciples of Christ as we work together in the coming months.
We bid farewell to a
sister in Christ this month who was very special to us. Margret Asuga died on April 5th. She and her husband were baptized into
Christ only five months ago, both of them, aged and crippled, had much
difficulty even getting down to the water.
Both of them attended worship faithfully and they were always the first
to arrive when I went there to teach.
Margaret went to be with the Lord one night she slept and is now
awaiting the arrival of we who have been left behind. We are happy for Margret because she lived a long life and was
able to find the Lord before it was too late.
Until I write again, I
pray that you will be blessed as richly as we have been blessed. There is so much to do, and so little time
to accomplish our Lord's work. May we
always be mindful of Him and His cause.
In His service,
Barry and Stacy Rosie
