Dear friends in Christ,
May grace, peace, mercy, and the love of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ be
showered upon you daily as you serve Him. We pray that this letter
finds you well.
Our lives continue to be blessed both spiritually and physically here
in Kenya.
There are still many problems to deal with daily, but we have had the
opportunity to
see the church grow in many ways since we have returned to Africa.
Sickness of the people here in South Nyanza
continues to be rampant. We have
people coming to our gate or calling us daily about a person that is
either sick or
has died. It is beginning to wear on us mentally, and for this
we ask your prayers
go up to God both on our behalf and for those who are sick. We
need the wisdom that
only God can give in handling these daily requests for help.
We want to take this time to thank you for all the
money we have received to
help our fellow Christians with the hunger that is present in South
Nyanza. We have
sufficient funds to supply corn for many months. Because delivering
corn takes so
much time that could be used for teaching, we ask you pray to the Lord
for good
crops at the next harvest time. This will make it possible for
us to help more on a
spiritual level in the future.
We have started to see some good results from the
meeting of leaders and
teachers that Kit wrote about in the February newsletter. Churches
that are in
close geographical location have started to worship together on Sundays.
This will
allow us to teach more churches in a shorter period of time.
Also, many of the
leaders in various churches have started to be more open with us about
their lives
and culture, allowing us to work closer with our Luo brothers than
possible in the
past. For this we praise the Lord, and pray that we will continue
to be an
influence for Him among the Luo people of South Nyanza.
Another course was held this last weekend
(with Ken Bolden a missionary who in
the past worked in South Nyanza) teaching on the gifts of the Holy
Spirit that are
found in Romans 12. The course was attended by about 40 people,
and the teaching
well received. During the course we were able to fellowship with
those present, and
discuss some major issues concerning the future of the Lords body in
South Nyanza.
This also was well received and shows the guidance of the Lord among
His people. As
we continue to grow together pray that the Lord will give us the wisdom
to make the
right decisions in all that we do for Him.
Until next month we pray the Lords richest blessings
upon you.

Barry, Stacy and Kit
