Dear friends in Christ,

Only three weeks have passed since we last wrote.  We are doing fine physically, but
are still very busy.  I am writing this newsletter during a three day break between two
meetings.  The last meeting lasted for 3 days, from Friday until Sunday.  It was well
attended by our Luo brethren.  Four churches asked if we could come and teach them.
Attendance was about 40 people, but jumped to more than 50 on Sunday for worship.  I
taught out of the book of Genesis, hopefully helping the Christians realize what Gods
desire for man was in the beginning.  On Thursday I will be going to a course in Central
Nyanza called "Back to the Bible".  This course is held every year in the month of April,
and lasts for 9 days.  This is the first time for me to attend the course since we have
been in Kenya.  I will be co-teaching one of the Luo classes.  Most of the students for
the course are enrolled in World Bible School, and each year about 50 or 60 new Christians
are added to the Lords body through this outreach.
We have some good news about help for South Nyanza in the way of new workers!!  We
have been in contact with a couple named Roger and Sue Moon since our visit to Abilene
while we were in the States.  We first met the Moon family in June of 1983 while surveying
the work in South Nyanza.  Since talking with them in Abilene, they have been praying and
trying to decide if they could fit in to the work here.  On the 11th of April we received
a call from them saying that if we still wanted them they would come and join us.  Praise
the Lord for answering prayer!!  Their target date for arrival is January of 1990, but
there are still a lot of hurdles to overcome before their arrival will be a reality.  We
continue to ask your prayers on both their behalf and ours.  On their behalf as they
continue to raise support, which is not an easy task, and on our behalf as we work with
the Kenya government to get approval for them to enter the country.  In the past some of
the missionaries for Christ's church have been denied entry into Kenya.
Please continue to remember one other family that might be coming to South Nyanza.
Their names are Jim and Rene Babcock, who also live in Abilene.  They have talked with
Hermitage Road Church of Christ in Richmond, Virginia, (Lawrence and Faye Barrs sponsoring
congregation) and at present are making a decision about joining us here in Kenya.  We
pray what ever their decision is, they will be a strong influence for the Lord in His
kingdom.
May God continue to bless your efforts as richly as He has ours.  Please pray for
strength on our behalf as we labor here in South Nyanza.  We are encouraged by the
decision of the Moon family, however, daily we face new situations that require the wisdom
of God in helping our fellow Christians with their struggles.

In Christ's Care,

Barry, Stacy and Kit Rosie
