To our Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our God above, who so richly
supplies all our
needs, by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We trust this
finds you are all
well, both physically and spiritually. We are doing fine and
continue to grow
in the Lord daily.
It will not be long now before the David High
family finishes language
school in Nairobi and arrives in Kisii. We plan on giving them
the month of
August to get situated in their new home and adjust to living in Kisii.
Then,
beginning in September we will be compiling a church growth study,
allowing
both the High and Moon family to get acquainted with the churches in
South
Nyanza. (Roger Moon has been active in the work for nine months,
however, he
has not been around to all of the existing churches in South Nyanza).
Hopefully by the beginning of 1992 we can send an updated church growth
study
your way, since it has been two years ago that the last church growth
study
was compiled.
To compile a study on church growth in South
Nyanza two to three months
will need to beset aside for this task. However, since their
is in reality a
new team in South Nyanza we feel this will give us some insight into
where the
church is at present, and where it should go in the future. Please
pray for
this effort, and for us as we start to work together for the Lord,
among the
Luo people South Nyanza.
In closing we beseech your help in praying
for the following items:
1. Five meetings with Luo Christians.
a. August 12 - 18 (evangelistic meeting at
the Awendo church)
b. August 16 - 18 (meeting for women at the
Winyo church)
c. November 15 - 17 local meeting with 3 churches
for fellowship
and Bible study at
the Soko church)
d. November 29 - December 2 (national meeting
in Kitale)
e. December 19 - 22 (evangelistic meeting
at the Saramba church)
2. The Dudi congregation for strength in holding to that which
is truth.
3. Several denominational churches as they attempt to follow
the will of our
Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
4. The Joash Kadwe family as they continue to struggle with
Joash and his
health.
We continually pray for your well being, both
physically and spiritually.
May the Lord bless your lives on our behalf. You are a source
of strength and
encouragement to us in our daily walk with God.
In Christ,
Barry J. Rosie
