To Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings on  behalf of  your Luo  brothers and  sisters  in
South Nyanza.  May  the Lords riches  blessings be showered  upon
you.  We trust  this finds you well,  and growing spiritually  in
His kingdom.
For a  long time  now  I have  been  striving to  teach  the
concept that the Lords'  church is a spiritual  church.  My  main
emphasis being on the difference between worldly people who  seek
after worldly wealth  by nature,  and spiritual  people who  seek
after and attend to the desires of our Lord and Father in  heaven
above.  I  am sure  that you  struggle with  worldly thinking  in
America also, though, maybe not quite  in the same ways as we  do
here in Kenya.
In America people  have many items  that occupy their  time.
Here people are  busy striving  to acquire the  wealth that  will
occupy all  their time.    Basically the  struggle is  the  same.
Their is  a  large  lack  of "seek  first  His  kingdom  and  His
righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you."
Perhaps  one  of  the  hardest  things  to  measure  in  the
continuing growth of  the Lords'  body is spiritual  growth.   At
times the road is  long and hard that  brings about this kind   of
growth.  Hence, when  spiritual growth can be  seen in the  body,
great joy and thanksgiving is expressed.  As we are enjoying this
time of spiritual awareness  and growth, we  praise the Lord  for
bringing about  the  continuing changes  in  the way  people  are
serving and worshipping His holy name.
Starting on January 8, 1992 the missionary men of the  South
Nyanza Team were the hosts of  a leadership meeting at the  Winyo
congregation.  During this  time we taught  about what can  bring
peace into the Lords'  body, as well as  emphasized the need  for
all men to be  spiritually minded in all  things.  Much time  was
spent on building a foundation for  peace and unity in the  years
to come, as well as enlisting  the help of our fellow  Christians
in setting up a schedule for leadership training in the churches.
Much time has been spent  by the missionary men, in  talking
to the Luo Christians, and many  changes are being made in  South
Nyanza.  All  we pray,  to the building  up and  edifying of  the
church.  The church growth  survey showed the congregations  that
were growing, and had better weekly attendance, were those  whose
preachers and teachers  were worshipping  with them  on a  weekly
basis.  Therefore in the coming year we are striving to keep  the
preachers and teachers at home, and initiate growth in the  local
congregations.  Leaders meetings  and evangelistic meetings  have
been planned every  month in already  existing congregations,  in
hopes of strengthening the local congregations, and showing, that
growth can come in the local church setting.
Stacy is also busy in the work.  As I write this newsletter,
she and the two other missionary  wives of our South Nyanza  Team
are out at the Mariwa congregation, for a meeting which will  set
a schedule of  teaching for  the Luo  women in  the coming  year.
Many hours have gone into the preparation of this material, which
will teach what the lives of  Christian women are to be like,  as
they walk with Christ.  Some of the Christian women are given the
opportunity to teach  and edify  their sisters  in Christ  during
these meetings.
As we continue to serve our Lord and Master, we request your
prayers for our continued  health and general  well being in  the
days and months to come.  The  Lord has blessed us in many  ways.
It is our  desire to be  used to  an even greater  height in  His
service.   May you  receive His  richest blessings  and feel  His
presence in your daily lives.

In His Service,

Barry J. Rosie
