COME ON . . . TAKE A PEEK IN ON THE ROSIE'S AND THE LUO WORK!

*  This has been a good good month!  The Rosie family is fine and in there
    kicking.  Keeping busier than ever.

*   Barry got a good report from the surgeon when he went in for his one
month checkup concerning his foot injury.  The crutches are history.
He's walking carefully with a cane for the next six weeks and then he
should be able to walk normally.  He's back to visiting the churches
full time.  We thank God that injuries from the fall in the well were
not worse and that proper medical care was available.  That is a minor
miracle in itself.  Twice now we have been blessed and cared for in
regards to broken bones, even though we live in an area where medical
    care is almost non-existent.

*   We've welcomed about 30 Luo guests into our home in the course of the
month.  They have really lifted our spirits in just wanting to come and
pray for Barry.  It is so encouraging to hear their heartfelt prayers
and see their spirits maturing in their Lord.  Not to mention the
opportunity we had to teach some one on one Bible studies.

*   Praise God for 16 new souls who were added to Christ this month.  Five
of them were baptized during the Homa Bay Church evangelistic meeting.
Eight were baptized during a ladies course that was held at the Kisuri
church.  And 3 were baptized during a leaders course held at the Mukende
church.  Please pray with us for their growth in Christ as they start
    their walk with Him.

*   I can speak personally for the Ladies course that was held at the Kisuri
church.  Over 40 were in attendance and we had a wonderful weekend
studying the attributes of a true Christian woman as she walks with
Christ.  The smiles on those ladies faces during the course of the
weekend  were  like  flower's in bloom.  They are already asking when we can
come again to do another course!

*  Do you remember the call for help you received from us back in 1989?
Because of your unbounded generosity, $11,000.00 was sent to us at that
time to distribute food to needy Luo's during a time of crop failure.
This month, the last $2400.00 of that money was distributed among the
churches in South Nyanza to help them over another crop failure.  God
knows how you have given to help brothers and sisters in need.  We know
    He is smiling on you.

*   About 3/4 of the churches in South Nyanza have been visited this month.
Quite a feat in itself seeing that South Nyanza is over 3000 square
miles and roads are almost non-existent.  Only Christ can provide the
strength to accomplish that!  We thank Him for blessing us so richly
    with that strength.

*   What about our house?  The well is 37 feet deep now and water is
abundant.  A tank has been placed on the property to hold water.  The
land has been cleared.  The fence is being erected next week.  We are
going to make an all out effort to construct our African style home and
get moved into South Nyanza before our furlough.  We'll need lots of
your prayers to help get it all done.  Moving to Rongo town will put us
into the heart of South Nyanza.  Being closer to the Luo church leaders
will accomplish much as we begin to see and to plan for the end of the
Luo work in South Nyanza.  After 20 years of missionaries in South
Nyanza, we are moving into the home stretch!

*   Don't forget!  We will see you in September,' Lord willing:  Furlough
plans go ahead smoothly.  We are so anxious to see you and to share His
    work with you.

Please don't peek in on us only.  We want and need for you to jump in with
both feet!  There is nothing we can do without your constant and specific
prayers for our efforts to mature Luo's in His name and for His cause.

For Christ,

Barry, Stacy & Kit
