To our Fellow Laborers in His Kingdom,

Greetings from Kenya!  We pray this newsletter finds that you are well.  We are
doing fine in our new home in Rongo!  There is still much to do. However, we have been
able to set up our furniture, and are able to live comfortably.  I now have water piped
from one of our rain tanks to the back door, so that Stacy does not have to carry water
too far.  I still need to construct some kitchen cabinets and closets in the bedrooms,
and paint the windows, doors and cement floors.
Stacy however has done about as much as she can do for now, and has settled down
to teaching Kit kindergarten.  It seems to be going very well.  We are back into our
regular schedule of team devotionals and team meetings, and soon hope to be immersed
completely in the Luo work once again.  Already we are making plans for several Luo
meetings, and Leadership Meetings in the near future.
Presently we do not have a telephone, however we are working on it.  Rongo is
going to be getting direct dial sometime this month, and I have already applied to have
a phone installed.  Our address remains the same as it has always been.  For those of
you who may need a refresher, I will list it now.

The political situation here in Kenya presently is stable.  There was some trouble
expected the month of December and the first few weeks of January.  The missionaries
did not take a chance at going out, rather they stayed close to home and guarded their
families.  The election went off fairly smooth, and there was some rioting in various
areas, however for the most part all things went well.
While on furlough we visited a church that has taken a vested interest in the
World Bible School program in South Nyanza.  In the past they paid totally for the
postage of World Bible School lessons, both to Kenya, and from Kenya.  Now they have
also taken a vested interest in our work with the Luo people, and have agreed to
support us on a monthly basis.  We are not their only missionary family, but one of
three.  After visiting the congregation, the elders wrote a report to distribute to the
congregation, explaining what the Luo work is all about, and why it is necessary for us
to move on from South Nyanza, to a new work in a few years.  If we had written the
report ourselves, we could not have explained the Luo work in a better way.  We are
therefore including a copy of this report so that all of you can read it.
Of the Christians that we have had opportunity to visit with since our return to
Kenya, all are happy for our safe return and are anxious to work with us in the future.
We have seen how they have continued with the work, and the churches for the most part
are continuing to grow, both spiritually and numerically.  We are happy to see such
faith, as this is a good sign that when we leave in another four years, they will be
able to continue on their own.
Once again we want to thank you for your hospitality while we were in America.  We
pray that your lives in the future will be as fulfilling as ours appear to be.  May the
Lord bless you and keep you.

In Christian Love,

Barry, Stacy and Kit Rosie
