Dear Everybody,

Hi Everybody.  It's me again.  Kit Bartholomew.  My Momma said
she needed to write you another letter, but I asked her could I do
it, cause I got lots I want to tell you.  My suitcases are packed.
We are going to sleep in Merica one more night and then we go on
the airplane up, up, up, and over, over to Rongo, and I won't see
you again for a long week.  That's a long time, and I want to say
good-bye to you.
     Merica is a nice place.  I like the snow, and my Christmas;
and the pretty autumn leaves, and toy stores, and Cheerios, and
apples,  and lots of  television,  and all my  Bible classes,  and
visiting you at your house.  But I'm ready to see my best buddies,
Evansie and Bayo.  They need me to hug them.  And my belly is just
crying for sukuma wiki (greens) and kuon (corn meal mush).  And
besides, my friends in Kenya need me to teach them bout Jesus.  I
got work to do in Kenya.  First I need to help my Poppa build the
choo (pit latrine) so my Momma doesn't have to use a can.  And then
I need to set up my bed in our new bush house.  And then I'll get
out my new bike that we packed in a suitcase and I'll share it with
my friends.  And I have to hug my dog.  And I'm going to start my
school work soon too.  Momma packed my school books in the suitcase
too.  We have lots of suitcases.
Oh yeah,  I almost  forgot.  Momma  says  to  tell  you  that  our
address (whatever that is) will be the same.  She says to tell you
that we love to get your letters.  Momma says to tell you thank you
for all the gifts you gave me.  I had my Christmas everyday while
we were in Merica.  Momma says to tell you that we love you and
pray for you everyday and we miss you already.  She says to tell
you  that  we  had  a  happy  time  with  you.  Momma  wants  you  to  know
that we preciate all you do for us and for the Luo people.
Momma is makin me tell you lots of stuff, but I want to tell
you that I love Kenya, and I'm happy to go back.  I miss you and
sometimes that makes me sad a little, but I know that Jesus is
watching you and protecting you and loving you.  So then I'm happy
again.     And my work  is  important  cause  I'm doin  it  for  Jesus  so
don't worry bout me.  Just pray for me.

I love you,

Kit Bartholomew
