“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8 Isaiah was a
chosen prophet of God who was touched by God in a special way. Isaiah
did not feel up to the task that he was asked to accomplish. However,
once he was touched by God there was no turning back. God purified
Isaiah’s unclean lips and prepared him for the task that laid ahead.
Once Isaiah was touched by God he was a changed person. Isaiah was
ready to serve in any capacity asked of him.
“The last time I "felt" something like this was when I was a senior in high school. I had always planned to be a doctor. Nothing else was ever discussed. I was an excellent student in maths and sciences. My interests had developed hours of training in firstaid and knowledge of biology. I even had a school in Louisiana offering to pay full tuition for me to study at their institution. But, one day I got this feeling that being a doctor was not in my future. I felt that preaching was the path for me. Well, here I sit...after 25 years in the pulpit having another "feeling" about my future.” Even after 25
years of serving the Master we can still be touched, as Mark was touched
by the Master. We thank Mark for allowing us to share his thoughts
with you. We are happy for Mark and his family and we pray that God
will lead them to an even more fulfilling life than the life they have
already experienced while preaching in His Kingdom. We can not know
what God has in store for us each day. Even after 20 years on the
mission field the Rosie family never ceases to be amazed at the way God
is working and touching not only our lives, but also the lives of those
we contact daily. What we do know is that, if God is touching our
lives and He is the One that is in control, we will always have a full
and rewarding life in service to Him.

| Did You Know. . .
. . . that with the upcoming elections on December 3, 2006 the Malagasy people are buzzing about political matters. There is not a time that we are together in the car that the upcoming elections are not mentioned in some way or other. Many of the Malagasy like the present president, and hope that he can continue to serve for another five year term. They do say, however, that if he is not re-elected they hope the next person elected is a rich person like President Ravolomanana, so that he will not steal from the country and the people and cause things to go back to the way the country used to be with the former president. The former president was elected as a poor person and became rich while in office. Please pray for a fair election that will continue to help the country of Madagascar to progress. |

At the Ambohimarina congregation we continue to study through the book of Acts. We are now in Acts chapter 21. We are seeing that this is a very good study for the congregation in many ways. First, they have never studied a whole book of the Bible before. Second, they are seeing the beginnings of the church and its struggles for the first time. This study is opening their eyes to the fact that living for Christ takes commitment and perseverance on their part, just as it took commitment and perseverance on the part of the Apostles and early followers of Christ. Third, they are seeing how the church is supposed to function on a daily basis. Marriage Classes

| Miniature Missionaries
Both of the miniature missionaries are now back in school. We continue to see good changes in both of their lives this year. Havilah is more sure of herself and the teachers state, “Havilah is a changed person”. We thank God that people are seeing a change in Havilah since she put on Christ as her Savior this last July. Please pray that Havilah can use her changed life and influence others to follow Him. Kit is growing up and becoming less dependant on mom and dad. This week we got an e-mail from Kit asking if he could go and visit the home of some of his friends during an upcoming mid term break. First, we did not know that Kit had any “friends” at school. Second, we were amazed that Kit actually wanted to go somewhere else other than where he usually went during mid term breaks. This has come as a surprise to us, but it is a good surprise. We see that Kit is becoming more independent and for this we are thankful. Please pray that Kit will continue to mature and be ready to enter university in the United States in the summer of 2007. |
| Mark Upton’s Faces of Madagascar
Mark’s artwork continues to remind us of the wonderful work the WWYC group did in Madagascar. We are looking forward to a visit from them again next year. This particular tyke was Mark’s wife, Miriam’s favorite. I think it was love at first sight for both of them!
